Perimenopause As One Of The Major Female Facial Hair Causes

There are so many symptoms of perimenopause that we ladies simply hate. The sudden weight gain, migraines, anxiety, hot flashes and mood swings are just some of the signs we have to put up with. But to make things even worse is the possibility developing excess amounts of facial hair.

Amongst the many female facial hair causes, perimenopause was found to be one of the most common triggers. What’s causing the excess amounts of fur to grow on our mugs, you ask? The answer to that would be a simple imbalance of your hormones, which is a natural occurrence during the perimenopausal stage.

For most of the symptoms of the disorder, they can be linked to a sudden drop in estrogen levels and an increase in progesterone levels. However, when it comes to the abrupt development of “man hair” on your face, the culprit behind that would be excess production of androgens, which includes the hormone known as testosterone.

Men and women alike produce androgen, although men have a lot more of this particular group of hormones, which is why they have manlier body structures, deeper voices and other manly qualities. In females, the amounts of androgens are supposed to be suppressed by the estrogen and progesterone. However, as we draw closer to the perimenopausal stage, this balance is upset, therefore leaving you with excess amounts of hair on your facial features.

The more androgens you have circulating inside of your body, the manlier your male features will be. These hormones can be quite difficult to control, even if you were to utilize hormone replacement therapy. But like most female facial hair causes, the root can be identified and dealt with.

Usually, a pair of tweezers should be more than enough to address the problem you face. But then again, you’ll have to adopt a regular routine of facial hair removal to ensure that they say out of sight. However, if you’d choose to do things the faster way, then you can always try other alternatives. Electrolysis can do the trick for you, as it destroys the unwanted hair follicles, therefore preventing them from growing back on your mug for a very long time or even permanently.

However, there are risks plus drawbacks involved with this procedure, such skin discoloration and its overall price. At average, you have to take 15 to 30 sessions, wherein each session costs an average of $45.
